The True Meaning of Christmas
The true meaning of Christmas seems to have been lost in translation over the years as retailers and consumers alike have taken the holiday to a new level. Instead of celebrating the birth of Christ, we now celebrate longer store hours, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and whatever chance we get to acquire more stuff. This Christmas season, we should all take a break from our busy schedules to reflect on what is truly important. In our world of political correctness, 'Happy Holidays' has replaced the more appropriate 'Merry Christmas.' Do we even want to relate the beautiful story of the birth of Jesus to what Christmas has become? But then again, if we don't remind ourselves and others of the true significance of Christmas and the ultimate meaning of God becoming one of us - to be born of man and to be crucified to save us - then who will? We all know the story from Luke 2:4-19 that recounts the birth of Jesus, the Saviour, Emmanuel, God With Us. God's one and only Son. His true gift to us. So this Christmas, amidst the parties, the gifts and the shopping, let's remember why we celebrate this glorious holiday. All those things are nice, but the true meaning is and always will be Jesus. Christmas Present
It was the day after Christmas at a small town church. The pastor of the church was looking over the cradle when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing from among the figures.
Immediately, he turned and went outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon, and in the wagon was the figure of the little infant Jesus. So he walked up to the boy and said, "Well, where did you get Him, my fine friend?" The little boy replied, "I got him from the church." "And why did you take Him?" The boy said, "Well, about a week before Christmas, I prayed to the Lord Jesus and I told him if he would bring me a red wagon for Christmas, I would give him a ride around the block in it." -Author Unknown |

Fran Boyd,
Parts Manager, has been with Cahaba Tractor for almost six years.
She is on the front lines,so to speak,
working with customers on a daily basis, as well as ordering parts and taking inventory.
"We try to treat everyone as a person, not as a sale or a number. We know we depend on them to be successful."
Seventeen years experience as an owner (with her husband) of an antique car business has well-prepared her for the task. Some customers are surprised to see a woman at the counter when they come in, but many prefer it. "I've had customers say,
'The smartest thing they did was put a woman behind the counter!'"
When Fran is not working, her favorite hobby is reading and of course antique cars! |
