Birch Equipment is pleased to announce that effective January, 2012, the company has received Federal DBE Certification under the US Department of Transportation's DBE program.  According to records maintained by WA State's Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises, Birch Equipment is one of only two firms in the State of WA with DBE Certification in the Construction Machinery and Equipment Merchant Wholesalers Industry (NAICS Code 423810) and the only company that provides such a wide range of equipment rental and sales options.
"DBE Certification allows Birch Equipment to participate in federally funded projects with both State and Federal DOTs," said Fleet Manager, Jordan Mellich.  "With DBE Certification, Birch Equipment will be able to help contractors and government agencies meet mandatory participation rates established for working with small and disadvantaged businesses on federally funded projects."

Drainage Backed Up...Basement Flooded...Wet Walls? 

  1. Remove the Water -need to move a lot of standing water or just extract from a saturated carpet?

    • Pumps - 6" Trash to 1" Pondy with water movement ranging up to 135,000 gallons per hour. 
    • Carpet Extractors & Cleaners - remove excess water & clean-up residue.
  2. Raise the Temperature - ideal running temperature for dehumidifiers is between 70 & 90 degrees.
    • Indirect Heaters - provide clean, dry heat from up to 40' away via ducting, allowing drywall mud & paint to dry quicker. 
    • Propane/Kerosene/Electric & Steam Heaters - ranging up to 600K BTUs
  3. Air Movement - moisture needs to be moved toward dehumidifiers to expedite drying.
    • Turbo Dryers/Blowers & Fans - run a minimum of 2 or more with every dehumidifier...air circulation is the key to faster drying!
  4. Dehumidification - remove the moisture. 
    5.
    • Dehumidifiers - 115 volt plug in. Coverage ranges from 2000 - 13.000 sqft.  Must be transported in upright position.

Do you know someone pursuing an education related to the rental industry at the graduate, undergraduate or technical/vocational level?  The ARA Foundation is awarding scholarships for financial assistance:
  • 10 - $2,000 for college-bound applicants
  • 10 - $1,000 for vo-tech applicants
  • 2 - $2,000 for graduate-level applicants
  • 1 - $3,000 to the top applicant

Applications are available for the 2012/13 academic year at www.ARAfoundation.com - deadline for applying is March 3, 2012.
