RENOWNED CHEF MICHAEL POTTERS JOINS ANGELINE'S RESTAURANT

Angline's Restaurant and Inn of Bloomfield announced today that Michael Potters will join them as Chef de Cuisine in the New Year. He will open Valentine's weekend on February 10.

Potters, who recently closed his renowned Harvest Restaurant in Picton, stated "I am excited to be able to work with the Fida family. Their vision, philosophy and the beautiful setting of Angline's matches the direction in which I personally have wanted to go. We share a passion of farm-to-table cuisine and the desire to support local farmers which Willi Fida started many years ago. I value his legacy and the accomplishments he and Monika achieved over the last two decades in the County."

"Our family is thrilled to be working with Michael", stated Alexandre Fida, co-owner with his sister Melanie. "He has already contributed so much to the local farm-to-table concept which we also value. He will add to what our family has spent years developing here in Bloomfield."

Melanie added, "I see this as wonderful synergy, combining our talents to create a hugely successful partnership together."

Living in Prince Edward County has provided Michael with a deeper connection to the land and the seasons which are his inspiration, enabling him to source more products directly. "The main thing I try to accomplish is simplicity and purity. That's done through not over-working anything too much, making sure the ingredients are beautiful and really fresh. Most important is supporting local farmers here in the County."

Prior to moving to Prince Edward County in 2003, Michael Potters had been linked with some of Toronto's finest restaurants. Upon arriving in the County, Michael first opened the Milford Bistro and two years later moved to establish his highly-respected Harvest restaurant in Picton. Harvest was rated by En Route Magazine among the top ten dining rooms in Canada within its first year.

Angline's Restaurant will be closed in December and January for renovations and will open February 10 for Valentine's weekend.  Accommodation at Angeline's Inn will still be available through the winter. Reservations possible through their website.
