What a month this was! Full of special events and fund-raising dinners. The end of one phase, soon the beginning of another new one. And with it all a blessing from the gods of extended gentle autumn weather. Life is sublime here in Prince Edward County!

AZADUDU: GHANA GALA
Organized by Peta Hall, the fund-raising gala is providing the Atorkor Centre in Ghana - a proposed vocational training and employment centre - with a substantial injection of funds for its excellent work.
Attendees bought 'bricks' for the centre, participated in the silent and live auctions and enjoyed Sébastien's tasty hors d'oeuvres and dinner.
The High Commissioner of Ghana, Heather Johnston, was in attendance, shown here with Peta.
Local wineries generously offered aperitifs to all the guests. Thanks to everyone who contributed to make this evening such a success for the cause.
Photos of the event are on our Facebook page. |

SLOW FOOD DINNER
We loved hosting the 'Good, Clean and Fair' Gala & silent auction organized by the County's Slow Food convivium members.
Photos of the group here.
Everyone was of like minds: the encouragement of fine dining, the use of local food from County suppliers, wine from local winemakers, some of whom - Hillier Estates, Karlo Estates, The Grange and Sandbanks Estates - generously offered the aperitifs before the dinner.

May Slow Food the County continue to thrive! For more information please go to their website. |

CLIENT COMMENTS
Overheard in our restaurant this week: "it was our 50th anniversary and you made our day!"

FAREWELL TO A CREATIVE CHEF
Chef Sébastien Schwab completed this season with a Countylicious that was the best we have ever had. A fitting end, a superb denouement to his two years with us.
His trilogies were loved by many and his 'French cusine with a twist' appreciated by our loyal clients.
Thank you Seb for your contribution to our restaurant. We wish you and Silvia the very best in all your endeavours! |
