We love this time of year: golden leaves floating through the air, the aroma of wood-burning fires, thousands of orange pumpkins beckoning us from farmers' fields before winter sets in and...Countylicious!

Come and join us in celebrating it all. |
COUNTYLICIOUS Nov 4-27
It's here again! The long-awaited Prince Edward County's promotion of fine dining, featuring prix fixe menus, starts this week! We had fun participating in a preview tasting session on the radio. Video with lip-smacking sound effects right here: radio interview.
Photo shows Pat for Angéline's, Lili for East & Main, Andreas for Blumen Bistro.
Sébastien's Countylicious menu includes a savoury lamb ragout with foie gras cream emulsion, and for vegetarians risotto with a rainbow of red peppers topped with Fifth Town goat cheese crumble.
Is your mouth watering yet? If not, how about this: light-as-air lemon
cheesecake, tart, cloud-like and refreshing, garnished with red berry coulis - it's a favourite dessert!
You are invited to come and feast with us! Menu details here. |

HEADS OF HOSPITALITY Dinner
We were recently honoured to prepare a dinner for the Heads of Hospitality group - deans and chairs of the culinary departments of colleges across Ontario.
It was a challenge and Chef Sébastien met it with verve and vigour! One of the most discussed dishes was his amuse-bouche of pickerel tiramisu served in a 'bulle' on blue curacao jelly, lending a whisper of sweetness to the savoury fish creation.
Everyone agreed it was a
work of art from all points of view.
The remainder of the dinner featured Seb's trilogy specialities. |

CLIENT COMMENTS
From Trip Advisor, Ottawa:
"Perfect gem. My wife and I stayed over Thanksgiving weekend for our anniversary and found it absolutely charming...quaint and cozy from the outside, modern rooms and ultra cozy on the inside....the restaurant alone is worth a trip... crispy duck confit appetizer which was excellent, followed by venison stew and the most unique millefeuille for dessert....."
A visit recently from two enthusiastic food writers. Thank you Communal Table for your generous comments:
"... a beautiful, quirky (in all the right ways) and charming place where the food itself has just as much of a story as the young owners who have transformed it over the last three years.....delighted with the playful presentation of the food and interesting ingredients." |
