Greetings!
Welcome to the first installment of the update from New Yorkers for Lawsuit Reform (NYLR). New York's legal system - our lawyer tax - has contributed to the enormously high property tax burden for homeowners and businesses in New York, reduced access to health care, and driven up costs for homebuilders and homeowners. The failure of our elected officials to meaningfully address this issue has hindered efforts to revitalize New York's economy.
How bad is it?
A study by the Pacific Research Institute found that New York's lawsuit system ranks as the third-worst in the country. Click on the link to the left of this story to see more.
Earlier this year, the American Tort Reform Association named New York City one of its judicial hellholes. Click here for more information.
We're here to raise awareness about lawsuit reform in New York State and to create the change that we need to grow our economy and return our state to growth and prosperity. |
