Attendees, Vendors at the World of Concrete see some signs for Optimism
Official attendance numbers have not been released yet for World of Concrete 2012, which ended its run last Friday in Las Vegas, but initial estimates of both show promoters and exhibitors peg attendee figures at up to 50,000. More important than the base numbers however, were the uniform reports from exhibitors of stronger business activity at the show, with more orders being written this year and a much more confident mood heading into the 2012 construction cycle.
Larry Lemer, at Trimble/Spectra Precision, gave this nutshell review of the show. "This has been an excellent show for us," Lemer said. "In fact, this has been our best show in the last four years, and you can quote me on that," he added and laughed.

NEW Product of the Month!
Cord Protection Like No Other
Some times a product catches your eye because it's practical. Some time it's because it's useful. And some times... it just LOOKS cool!
Well, we think the new Ultra-Sidewinder is all three! This truly is a cord cover like no other. It's articulating design allows it to easily make curves, corners and s-turns that similar products simply cannot do without lifting up and causing a tripping hazard!

Construction Comedy
The young apprentice asked the old contractor how he had made his fortune.
The old guy fingered his safety vest and said, "Well, son, it was 1932. The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel.
"I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents.
"The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them at 5:00 pm for 20 cents. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I'd accumulated a fortune of $1.37."
"And that's how you built an empire?" the boy asked.
"Heavens, no!" the man replied. "Then my wife's father died and left us two million dollars."
