Dallas Bethlehem Center
Greetings!

The Dallas Bethlehem Center (DBC) is facing a crisis and needs your help. DBC, a national mission institution of Women's Division, General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church, has provided care and programs to at-risk children in South Dallas for the past 65 years.

Unfortunately, this beloved institution has recently experienced a serious cash flow situation due to the economic climate and a lack of needed charitable dollars from the larger community. Therefore, DBC will discontinue operations as of December 16, 2011, with plans to reorganize and re-open in the spring of 2012.

DBC's Board of Directors is challenged to find a new model of operation that will provide the financial stability that the Center, the children and families it serves, and supporters like you deserve. With thoughtful prayer and consideration, United Methodist Women can help sustain DBC's vital services to the community in any of the following ways:

  • Support closing operations by covering employee benefits, severance, & taxes
  • Make a Pledge to support the center's
    re-opening programs
  • Include DBC in your 2012-14 budgets
  • Host a fundraiser benefiting DBC

Dallas Bethlehem Center has a wonderous history of helping and serving those in its community who need the hope and love of Christ just as they also need childcare, education, and social services. Ruth Robinson, DBC Board Chair, assures us that with the support and help of Women's Division, they will address the issues facing DBC at this time. Please pray for a brighter future on the other side of this crisis. Please also consider seriously how you, and your fellow United Methodist Women, will enable DBC to come backPRESIDENT BECKY MADDOX strong and shining.

Thank you,

Becky Maddox, President
