Our Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott called the upcoming Super Bowl in Cowboy Stadium "a magnet for prostitution and human trafficking." He says that Texas already sees 10 thousand human trafficking victims a year and the Super Bowl could bring another 10,000 trafficking victims to Arlington for the event. United Methodist Women and Mosaic Family Services in North Texas will be working with other advocates in the area to combat human trafficking in the area. Human trafficking is the second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Watching TV tonight is the first step to raising awareness of human trafficking in our community!
Our main concern must be the children who are being exploited. Let's learn about the issue tonight and then figure out how we can be in mission here at home in the next few weeks. "Playground is the best film I've seen on the abuse and exploitation of children. In the tradition of our greatest protest art, it is both aesthetically sophisticated and politically committed. Nuanced and sensitive, it avoids the usual sensationalism surrounding this topic. This is the untold story of an American underworld." - Zoe Trodd, Harvard University
