GIVE ALL CHILDREN A CHANCE!
| |
DREAM Act needs your calls, letters & prayers! Jesus spent His lifetime advocating for the poor, the marginalized and voiceless in society. As we prepare to celebrate His birth, will you be His voice today? Through advocacy you can give the gift of a future to over 2 million undocumented youth who know only the US as their home. How? With a bit of your time and influence - and the courage to speak truth to power. Follow our Bishop Bledsoe's example!
The DREAM Act will be voted on next week by the Senate. Your calls, emails & faxes to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in support of the DREAM Act could be the influence necessary to give over 2 million youth and children the chance to live in dignity, free from oppression, and with hope for a productive future. Use the links to the left to learn more about the DREAM Act, read our Bishop's letter to the Senator, and get the story of the interfaith visits with Senators this week made by clergy & young people from N. Texas, and more.
YOU can provide the influence that will bring these youth out of the shadows and into the light. What a gift you can give this Christmas season! Contact Senator Hutchinson daily. click for her contact info and tips
Please take simple daily and faithful action (until the bill is voted on) described above; and forward this email on to others in your circle of influence asking them to join Methodists and people of all faiths across the country in this freedom mission.
