North Texas Conference UMW
  Faith hope Love in Action
Greetings!

A unique opportunity awaits you at the this summer at the N. Texas Schools of Christian Mission.  Bishop Earl Bledsoe and his wife, Leslie, are leading the study Joy to the World: Mission in the Age of Global Christianity and hope that you and other pastors will attend. There are some seats still available, but register today if you can. Seating is limited.

The Schools also offer a wonderful opportunity for a connectional Youth experience. Their version of the Joy to the World study includes hands-on mission experiences and the importance of short term mission trips. This is a rare opportunity for a preplanned and reasonably priced event ready for your youth to experience!

These events are available at both North Texas schools: the School of Christian Mission offered weekdays at First Plano UMC (July 26 - 29) or the Weekend Cooperative Mission Event (July 23 - 25) held at Austin College in Sherman. One and 2-Day events are available to fit your schedule. The studies below are available at both Schools for adults, men and women. Coordinating children and youth classes are available as well.

"For the Love of God" book

This in-depth study of John's Letter seeks to answer key questions concerning who wrote the letters, to whom were they originally written, and what they mean to us today.

Joy to the World! book
This study explores the theology of mission & evangelism in the 21st century context of Christianity as a world-wide religion.

"Beauty & Courage of Sudan" book
This study helps us understand why a dream of peace is possible in Sudan: culture, Bible-era history, colonialism's impact and Sudanese women's role in the process.
Yellow brochures with registration forms have been mailed to your church. You may also access more information and forms at ntcumc.org/umw

Please encourage your congregation and support staff to attend this educational opportunity with you -- where they will meet, fellowship and exchange ideas with other United Methodists from throughout the conference. Registration prices increase on July 1, so take care of this today!

Sincerely,
