Dear parents of 5th graders:

 

We are very excited to have our students graduate from Children's Ministry into our Student Ministry.  Fifth graders, we speak on behalf of our entire ministry when we say that it's a thrill to see you graduate from Kingdom Kids into our junior high ministry:  F.U.E.L.  You're a great group of kids who will be greatly missed!

 

It's often said that you can tell what's important by what gets celebrated.  This graduation/step-up event marks a significant spiritual milestone in the lives of our 5th graders, and we feel it deserves a celebration.  We can't overlook how important these milestones are for our students.  Each step comes with new learning experiences, opportunities to grow deep in our faith, and making new friends.  So, let's celebrate this special time with our kids!
The Kids' Celebration
We will be celebrating with the kids during Kingdom Kids during the 9am and 11am services

 
The Parents' Celebration
We are asking parents to join us for a parent meeting at 10:20 in the Media Room.  This will be your opportunity to learn about the next steps for you child from our Student Ministries Director, Kyle Stambaugh. 

 
Parents... We Need Your Help!
*Please provide us with a recent photo of your child and a baby picture of your child.  These will be used for a slideshow presentation during the church services on May 19th and 20th.  Drop off or email your photos using the link below by May 1st.

Next Steps for 5th Graders
Kingdom Kids Student Volunteer:
Your child is invited to serve as a student volunteer in Kingdom Kids once Step Up is completed.  On May 20, they receive student application forms.  They will need to turn these in with your signature.  Many parents have served with their children as they begin their time in Kingdom Kids.  If you would like to serve with your child, please let us know!  If your child is unable to attend on May 20, but would still like to volunteer in Kingdom Kids, please see Lisa Schnyders or email to request an application.

Odyssey: 
Odyssey meets twice a month beginning in September during the 9AM and 11AM Services.  Our 5th graders are invited to attend Odyssey on May 13 to get a feel for what happens in Odyssey.  We encourage you to send your child!

FUEL:
Fuel begins in the summer with "Hang Nights" and continues on in September.  5th Graders are invited to attend the last FUEL of this year on Monday, May 7 to experience what Fuel is about.  FUEL runs from 6:45 to 8:30PM.  Kids meet in the Media Room and gym.

 

We encourage you to take your child to both Odyssey and Fuel on the nights for 5th graders.  Please introduce your child and yourself to our Student Ministries Director, Kyle Stambaugh.  Take some time to talk to your child about their experiences, their questions, and their concerns.  Moving into middle school can be a big change for kids and we would like to make their transition as smooth as possible.

 


During the parent meeting on Step Up Sunday on May 20, Kyle will talk more about what happens in FUEL and Odyssey, and you will have a chance to ask any questions you might have.
