What We've Been Up To
January brought us back to our D6 curriculum. We have been studying Moses, the journey out of Egypt and the 10 Commandments. We made some fun crafts, played some crazy games, and had some tough discussions. We've learned that God gives us rules because He loves us and He wants what is best for us, and in the older grades, we also learned that there are consequences when we don't follow those rules. Caleb and Joshua taught us to trust God with the giants in our lives, and we even saw that God has the power to make animals talk! We were challenged once to love God with all we have!
Partner with us! Each week your child will bring home a Family Connect sheet. It explains a little bit about what happened in each of our classrooms and encourages you to take some time to read together, pray together, and do together. Taking some time to do some or all of the ideas will give you opportunities to grow and connect with each other as you help your child learn more about God.
If you miss a sheet, you can find them on the "Weekly Updates" section under Kingdom Kids on the New Life website. Visit often to find out what we've been up to and what is coming up!

Kingdom Kids Service Opportunities
Weekly Offering
We continue to collect money to provide care for Mabel, our child through Compassion International. We love seeing how those dimes, quarters, and dollars add up to provide for Mabel's monthly care!
In May, Mabel will be having a birthday! We are putting together a package for her and would like your help. We'd like to know what questions you have for Mabel. Write your questions down and deposit them in Mabel's mailbox. The mailbox is located outside of the Jonah room.
You can also email your question to Miss Chrissy by clicking below:

5th Sunday -- Faith in Action
"The Lucky Cast Club" Toy Sale -- January 29th Kingdom Kids Outside the Walls -- April 29th
|
On January 29th, the Kingdom Kids hosted their Toy Sale for the Lucky Cast Club. First, the older kids had a visit from the Giana Bancsy and her family. Giana is a New Lifer who has been wearing a cast for about two years now. Her mom Sarah is part of a group of women who formed the Lucky Cast Club. They explained about what the Lucky Cast Club was and what life is like for kids in casts. The younger kids read a book that explained what Giana is going through with her cast. After that, the older kids went to work setting up the toy sale. They did an excellent job cleaning toys, organizing, and collecting money. Over $400 was raised through the Toy Sale. We also made activity booklets for kids to have while they are waiting to be re-casted.
It was great to see how people are willing to reach out and make a difference in the lives of others. The Lucky Cast moms wanted to make sure that no one goes through casting alone, and the Kingdom Kids wanted the Lucky Cast kids to know that people cared about what they were going through.
To see pictures of the day or find out more about Giana and the Lucky Cast Club, visit "New Life Church Kingdom Kids" on Facebook.Thank you New Life for your support of the Toy Sale!
******************************* 5th Sunday Faith in Action -- April 29 On April 29 we will be celebrating the different ways that Kingdom Kids have been able to put their faith in action outside the walls of this church. We will be asking kids to share stories about what they have been involved in with their schools, families, sports teams, clubs, etc. The congregation will also be invited to check out some of the organizations, groups, and people who have been touched by the work of the Kingdom Kids.
We will also be putting together VBS invites to share with community during the Loyalty Day parade on May 6. If you would like to donate hard candy (skittles, gum, starbursts, etc), you may bring it in anytime before April 29. Also, we'd love to have you walk with us during the parade. Watch for more information in April.
Parents, please partner with us! Go to the "Weekly Updates" page on our website or watch for the Faith in Action sheets to come home. Discuss the information there with your child and help him or her fill out the Information sheets.
The kids will be learning more about this mid March.

Palm Sunday and Easter in Kingdom Kids
For Both Palm Sunday and Easter, kids will go directly to their classrooms before service; they will not go into the auditorium for opening worship.
Please sign your child in at the Children's Welcome Center as you would normally do and then bring them right to their classroom. On Palm Sunday, the kids will be participating in the Opening Worship. They will be singing and playing hand bells. Please have kids in the classroom 15 minutes before the start of the service.
We will be practicing in our Kingdom Kids classrooms on March 11, 18, and 25. You may also use the following link to practice the song the kids will be singing.
