5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7

November was a fun month in Kingdom Kids!  We spent time learning the Christmas program songs, and we kicked off our study of "What Jesus Wants for Christmas!"  Each week we are introduced to a new person from the Christmas story.  On our last week, we will open the gift that shows us what God wants for Christmas.  We've had some great ideas already about what we can give God for Christmas.  Ask your child what his or her ideas for gifts are!

Family Notes will continue to be available at the Children's Welcome Table each week.  Please pick your note up when you check your child in for Kingdom Kids.  The Family Notes will let you know what is going on in all of our classrooms and will also provide suggestions on how you and your family can connect with God during the week.

Thank you for taking the opportunity to partner with us to teach your child about how much God loves him or her!  Please feel free to come to us with any questions you might have!  Contact information can be found at the end of the newsletter.

Welcome to Kerri Gorecki, our new Elementary Coordinator!

Kerri Gorecki began as our new Elementary Coordinator in November.  Kerri will coordinate activities and lessons for Salvation Street (1st-5th grade).

Kerri shares the following information about herself:

   "
I started attending New Life Church about 6 months ago when our family began searching for a new church.  My husband Joel and I have lived in Mokena since we were married almost 18 years ago.  We have 9 children... Hannah (16 yrs.), Abby (14 yrs.), Miriam (11 yrs.), Rachel (10 yrs.), Sam (9 yrs.), Caleb (9 yrs.), Esther (8 yrs.), Zach (6 yrs.), and Noah (5 yrs.).  I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.  In addition to life experience as a busy mom, I have also been a child care center director and more recently a director of children's ministries at our former church.  I am very excited about getting to know the families at New Life better and helping the children here grow in their faith!"

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to Kerri in the weeks ahead!

Kingdom Kids Help Wanted!

We are looking for a few people with one extra hour to share each month to make a difference in the lives of kids!  No special skills required; fun and meaningful on the job training comes along with this position!  You'll be amazed by the perks!

We are in immediate need of 2 people to help lead small groups in the elementary level (one at 9AM and one at 11AM).

We currently need an additional 3 people at 9AM to open an additional nursery room for all the new babies we've been blessed with at New Life!

We also need a few people who would be willing to serve as substitutes for our Saturday evening service.

Please prayerfully consider being a part of this important ministry!  For more information or to request a Children's Ministry application, please contact Lisa Schynders at schnyders@sbcglobal.net.
