We had a great first night at Hero Headquarters!  We had 198 kids and over 100 volunteers jumping, singing, playing, learning, and praising God!  

 
 
The kids raised $17.53 for "My Joyful Heart" and brought in over 40 books, games, and puzzles.  Way to go kids!

Today at Hero

Headquarters

We had a great day today at Hero Headquarters.    We

Were challenged to be a hero and do the unexpected.  In today's lesson a servant girl speaks up, and as a result, God heals Naaman (2Kings 5:1-14). 

We also had fun singing, playing some games, making a craft, and eating a snack-all of which helped us think about the servant girl and doing the unexpected.  When we join forces with God, wonderful things can happen!

 

Kids Helping Kids

This year we will once again be collecting a daily offering for My Joyful Heart, a non- profit organization that supports children in inner city Chicago. This year, we will be collecting a daily offering for My Joyful Heart.   Our money will be used to support two children for the entire year.  My Joyful Heart uses the sponsorship money to buy school supplies, birthday and Christmas presents, and hygiene items as well as sharing Jesus with them.  Our goal for the week is to raise enough money to support two children for an entire year-that is $600!   In addition, we will also be collecting gently used puzzles, books, and games to be used in care packages for the kids.  Search your house to find some items you are willing to share to help make a difference for other kids!

 

Pick Up and Drop Off

Please  walk your child into the auditorium every day at 6:00 to check him/her in.  You must also come into the auditorium and check out your child.  When you are picking up or dropping off your child(ren) please remember to go to the side doors.  The center doors will not be open! Also, you need to sign your child out every night so that the crew leader knows he/she has been released.  It is important that a responsible adult pick up your child at the end of the night.  Crew leaders will not release children to older siblings!  Thank you for your help!

 

Super Saturday Celebration

July 24  1:00PM - 3:00PM

Join us for an afternoon of songs, games, crafts, and fun.  Watch for more details to come.

 

Bring a Friend, Win a Prize!

Don't forget to invite your friends to join us here at Hero Headquarters.  Every time you bring a friend, you and your friend's name will be entered into a drawing.  Each night at our closing ceremonies we will pull a ticket; both you and your friend will win if your ticket is pulled.

General VBS Information

If your child has a green drawing ticket, those tickets may be deposited on Monday at the Information Booth in the lobby.

 

T-shirts and CDs will be for sale in the lobby during the week-end services and all of VBS.  T-shirts are $5 and CDs are $3.  Purchase of both t-shirts and CDs is optional.

 

It's not too late to invite a friend!  If possible, please have them register prior to VBS at www.newlifenewlenox.org.

 

For this year's service project we will be partnering once again with My Joyful Heart by collecting money to sponsor children and collecting gently used games, books, and puzzles for child care packages.  Those games, books, and puzzles may be brought in anytime and placed at the collection site in the lobby.

We hope you will be able to join us for our Super Saturday Celebration on July 24 from 1:00-3:00PM.  There will be a brief closing program where you can get a picture of what happened during the week followed by a food, games, and crafts for all!
