Zip Cars: What you need to know
We would like to CAUTION both our personal and commercial clients about the use of "ZIP" cars.
In most cases, you are left dangerously underprotected because your personal and/or commercial auto policies and your personal and/or commercial umbrella policies EXCLUDE coverage for ZIP cars.
Please contact us before renting a ZIP car so that we can explain the risk involved and offer any available solutions.

Guard Against Lightning
It's the season for lightning storms, which have become a major threat to the high-end electronics in many homes. Computers, TVs, AC systems and phones can be destroyed by a power surge if lightning hits. Experts suggest installing a protection system including a lightning rod on the house. (Lightning causes more than 6,000 home fires each year.) To protect your electronics, consider a whole-home surge arrestor, which needs to be professionally installed and costs $150-$500. Surge suppressors (not power strips) that you plug in yourself can help. Or if all else fails, you can unplug valued electronics in a storm.
Is your home safe from this threat?

LOSS CONTROL SERVICES FOR BUSINESSES
In today's commercial insurance marketplace, many companies provide value added loss control services to their insured's.
At MTM Insurance Associates, we not only recommend loss control visits for our new clients, but also support ongoing risk management for our current clients. Examples of services provided by insurance companies are: Inspection of buildings, review of sprinkler systems tests, employee ergonomic assessments, advice on driver selection, review and training, and recommended safety guidelines.
For our larger commercial clients, MTM encourages loss control visits to our insured's businesses. The goal is to resolve any outstanding safety issues, address any current or expected hazards, and implement workplace "safe practices". Most insurance companies will also provide in-depth information to support these safety programs. Often, clients are able to access company specific websites for up- to-date manuals, programs and recommended workplace procedures.
It is important to remember that promoting a safe work environment, will help avoid costly claims, as well as protect your employees. Fewer claims result in savings in future premiums! For more information on loss control services, please contact your MTM account executive.

The insurance company will mail you a statement, showing your premium deduction schedule for the policy term, at least 10 days before your first deduction. We will also mail you a new statement at least 10 days before any deduction amount changes, or if you elect to change your deduction date.
When will my premium payments be deducted? You choose ANY date between the 1st and the 28th day of the month. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, your deduction will occur on the next business day. What if the amount of my policy changes?
