Clean Heating Ducts Can Improve your Health

Researchers from the U.S. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recently completed a three-year study of 160 buildings which were considered to have Indoor Air Quality problems.  As a result of these studies, their data showed that the most common air quality problems adversely affecting the indoor environment were found to be dirty heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. It was found that dirty airflow filters and dirt found in the air intake vents doubled the chance of asthma in homes as compared to those that had other forms of heating and cooling systems.  In addition, exposure to unclean ducts increased the likelihood of health issues such as runny nose, sneezing, or itchy eyes, and higher susceptibility to colds in the winter and in the summer, too.

Puroclean Services has been serving our client' needs in this area.  For more information visit Puroclean's website:

www.PuroCleanNe.com

Puroclean's duct cleaning technologies employ a rotating brush system combined with a high velocity hepa vacuuming that traps duct and other particulates down to .03 microns (which is smaller than a mold spore and/or asbestos particulates).  Puroclean recommends having  your ducts cleaned  every 3 years.

Business Income Coverage

MTM's Commercial Lines Department is committed to providing exceptional coverage, along with professional service to all our business clients.  One important area of coverage is Business Income and Extra Expense.  For many of our clients, there is huge risk for loss of income in the event of a covered loss (fire, windstorm, vandalism, etc.).  For others, the threat of on premises and off-premises power outages pose even more of a concern of business income loss.

In order to establish the appropriate levels of insurance .  MTM recommends that all clients complete a business income worksheet.  Only after a business income sheet is completed, and your business income exposure is identified, can we best advise you on the amount of coverage to be purchased.  Without going through this process, your business income exposure may be underinsured or improperly insured.

Contact your Account Executive to request a Business Income Worksheet today.  A few minutes of your time today, can possibly save your business millions of dollars later.

Winter Driving Tips

Preparing your vehicle for winter now will help ensure your vehicle is in good working order when you need it most.

-Have a mechanic check the following items on your vehicle: battery, wipers and windshield washer fluid, antifreeze, ignition system, thermostat, lights, exhaust system, flashing hazard lights, heater, brakes, defroster and oil level.

-Install good winter tires.  Make sure the tires have adequate tread.  All-weather radials are usually adequate for most winter conditions.  You may also want to carry a set of tire chains in your vehicle for heavy snow conditions.

-Keep a windshield scraper and small broom for ice and snow removal and maintain at least a half tank of gas throughout the winter season.

-Finally, plan long trips carefully.  Listen to the local media report or call law enforcement agencies for the latest road conditions.

Personal Umbrella Supplement

Imagine if you were sued for
$1 million dollars!

It couldn't happen to you?  A few years ago, million dollar lawsuits were front page news.  Now they're all too common--your brakes fail and you collide with another car, or a guest in your home slips and falls.  Any of these accidents could mean a visit to court.  Will your insurance fully protect you and your family?

Chances are the answer is no.  If you are like most insurance buyers, you have insured your car and home, but have far too little liability protection.  Fortunately, your homeowner insurance carrier offers affordable liability protection.  This important protection, called Personal Umbrella Liability, can be applied as an extra layer of protection above and beyond your auto, home, boat or rental insurance policies.

Your financial future could depend on proper liability coverage.  Please give us a call soon to discuss this important coverage and how it can be a reasonable addition to your current insurance policies.
