You're invited to join Carolina Dance Center for an inspiring week-long intensive packed full of local and nationally renowned guest artists!
We're very excited to be hosting some special guests next week who will both challenge our students and refine their artistry. Each day of this motivational intensive will include a ballet and jazz/contemporary technique class. Additional classes such as pointe, variations, hip hop, tap, lyrical, improv, musical theater and/or conditioning will be included as well. As a special treat, we will host an African dance class later in the week with a live drummer from the African American Dance Ensemble! Parents may join us on Friday afternoon for a short presentation of the works choreographed or restaged by the guest artists. This week is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to supplement regular afternoon/evening classes. Download the entire week's schedule here.

Our Guest Artists

Casey Noblett began her training at the age of 3 under her mother, Toni and the Dancers' Workshop in Roxboro, NC. Her dance studies continued at the North Carolina School of the Arts and then onto New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida as well as the Atlanta Ballet, STEPS, Broadway Dance Center, The EDGE and Millennium Dance Studios. Casey's performance credits include productions at the White House, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Tokyo Disneyland, Disney World, Universal Studios, America's Junior Miss and with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. Her television credits include work with artists Will Smith, Gloria Estefan, Chayanne, and on Univision's Caliente and Sabado Gigante, CBS Sunday Morning, MTV's Battle on the Beach, and NBC Extreme Home Makeover. She is an interim choreographer with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks Dance Team, The Atlanta Dance Theatre, Gainesville Ballet, and the Atlanta Workshop Players. She has also been a choreographer for the Georgia Tech and Auburn University's Dance Teams. Casey has been a guest artist at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and Rosie O'Donnell's Theatre Kids Project as well as SERBA, RDA"s Craft of Choreography, The NC Dance Festival, and the SC Dance Festival. She has been a regional and national judge for Spotlight Dance Cup, Talent on Parade, Dance Caravan and the Tri-State Dance Contest. In the summer of 2011 she was the creative director for America's Distinguished Young Woman Program. She is constantly choreographing and teaching across the country through N-House Productions.

Cassidy Noblett's resume includes work with some of the hottest and most influential artists and choreographers in our industry. He has been on tour with the Spice Girls, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and the newest Britney Spears promo tour. He has been in music videos for Britney Spears, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Aguilera, Kings of Leon, Girlicious, Shayne Ward and Raistalla. He has appeared on America's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Fashion Rocks, SNL, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Mad TV, Dancing with the Stars, Ellen, the Grammy Awards, American Idol, Glee and even the Nickelodeon show, the Fresh Beat Band. Cassidy has been fortunate enough to work with the talents of Brian Friedman, Travis Payne, Nick and RJ, Laurianne Gibson, Frank Gatson, Jamie King, Tabitha and Napoleon, Wade Robson, Nick and Tone, Rhapsody and Fatima. He is now working as both a performer and choreographer based in LA.

Kenneth Easter began his training in 1984 at Palm Beach Center in Florida. He continued his studies at summer programs for Eglevsky Ballet, American Theatre Dance Workshop, Houston Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Boston Ballet. In 1992, as a senior student at the San Francisco Ballet School, he danced with the San Francisco Ballet. In 1994, he joined Boston Ballet where he performed in The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Giselle and Merce Cunningham's Breakers. Easter was a soloist with Miami City Ballet from 1995 to 2002. His repertory with the company included Grand Pas Classique, the Black Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake, Frederick Ashton's Les Patineurs, George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, Agon, Who Cares?, Rubies, and Theme and Variations among others. In 2002, he joined Ballet Arizona, where he performed Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, the Cavalier in The Nutcracker and the world premiere of Ib Anderson's Suenos. Easter joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in 2003 where he continues dancing presently.

Carson Capps has excelled the past 10 years in New York City and Los Angeles, working professionally in every venue. She was in the hit Broadway show "WICKED" at the Gershwin Theatre, as the "Witch's Mother," and also in the Los Angeles, Chicago, and national touring companies. Others include: A Chorus Line (Cassie, Val, Kristine), Crazy For You, Footloose, 42nd Street, Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel, and Funny Girl. Carson has worked with truly the best in the business today: Anne Reinking, Ben Vereen, Bebe Neuwirth, Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Cris Judd, Dave Scott, Laurieann Gibson, Brian Friedman and many others. She toured with EMMY AWARD winners Mia Michaels and Wade Robson (both of "So You Think You Can Dance"), working alongside them with THE PULSE on Tour. Lastly, Carson has had a long working relationship with TONY AWARD winner Andy Blankenbeuhler, namely on the Broadway hits In The Heights and 9 To 5 The Musical. Carson's teaching credits include Broadway Dance Center, Dir. of Dance for US debut of Stagecoach in LA, the internationally acclaimed children's theater program, the Dallas Ballet Center, and master classes nationally. Currently, Carson is a proud faculty member at DREAMS of Wilmington, a non profit organization in downtown Wilmington. She also choreographs for Wilmington's premier downtown theatre company TACT (Thalian Association Children's Theatre).
Robert Gosnell began his training with the High Point Ballet and went on to study at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of American Ballet (NYC), The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Atlanta Ballet. He joined Nashville Ballet in 1999 and danced with them until 2007. He has been featured in ballets by David Allan, Salvatore Aiello, Sir Frederick Ashton and Paul Vasterling. He has performed internationally in Argentina, Uruguay, and Italy. Robert served as Youth Cast Rehearsal Master for Nashville Ballet's Nutcracker. He taught at UNC School of the Arts for the annual North Carolina Dance Festival and as a guest faculty member the Fall of 2008, and continues to teach in the Preparatory Program. He was also on faculty for the 2004 and 2008 Southeastern Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) festivals. Robert is currently on staff with Roswell Dance Theatre and is the Associate Director of the Atlanta Dance Theatre. He continues to dance as a featured guest artist with ballet companies around the SE.

Shelly Masenoir is a choreographer, instructor, dancer, actress and producer in New York City. She has been a Contemporary choreographer for "So You Think You Can Dance" Ukraine for the last two seasons. Her TV appearances include MTV, CBS Morning Show, ABC, Saturday Night Live, and Law & Order to name a few. Her performing credits include Radio City Music Hall, Warner Brothers Films, Disney, Off- Broadway and Regional Theatre, National and European Tours including Fame, The Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, Irene, and West Side Story. With 16 years of deep and diverse teaching experience with all levels and ages, she has taught at various studios in the US, Germany, Italy, Austria, Prague, Argentina, Japan, Costa Rica, Cirque Du Soleil, Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet School and Peridance in New York. Shelly is currently the Director of UNCOVERED CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS, a series of Intensives based in New York City to help young dancers find their identities as choreographers.

Jaspin Newell began his professional dance career at age 16. He was offered full scholarships to Mercyhurst College, Virginia School of the Arts summer program Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and both dance and academic scholarships to Marymount Manhattan College. Jaspin has performed with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines "Radiance of The Seas" and with numerous jazz, modern, and ballet choreographers. Jaspin is currently teaching at numerous studios throughout Atlanta and has recently done choreography for the Atlanta Dance Theatre. He has been an assistant guest artist at SERBA and is an interim choreographer for the Atlanta Dance Theatre.

McCree O'Kelley received his training from the North Carolina School of the Arts, the School of American Ballet and Broadway Dance Center. Mr. O'Kelley starred in the North American tour of Cats as Mr. Mistoffelees, receiving much critical acclaim. As a member of the Atlanta Ballet, he performed soloist roles in several ballets and originated a principle role in Val Caniparoli's Open Veins. Mr. O'Kelley performed with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in Tannhauser, Aida, and Samson et Delila. Mr. O'Kelley was a featured dancer in the Off- Broadway cult hit Pam Ann. He has appeared throughout the US in many theater productions including the Music Man (Tommy Djilas), Cabaret, and Carousel (Carnival Boy). Mr. O'Kelley was a featured dancer at Tokyo Disneyland in Japan. He is currently on faculty at the University of South Carolina Conservatory of Dance, the Columbia Ballet School, and the Center for Dance Education. For the past 2 summers he has served on the faculty of the Atlanta Ballet's summer program teaching students for around the country.

Christie Sirota, originally from Pittsburgh, now resides on the East Coast. She has trained and worked along side of some of LA's hottest choreographers. She travels nationally with numerous conventions, workshops and competitions as well as teaching master classes. She is currently stage managing for VIP Talent. Her credits include Disney's NLT, dance/pop group TAXI DOLL, workout sensation HIP HOP ABS, Las Vegas Fashion Week and many others. Christie has choreographed for regional productions of Footloose, West Side Story and 42nd Street. She is also on staff with N-House Productions and travels all over the US throughout the year.
