Holiday reminder!
The holidays are a joyous time, but to make sure they are also a
safe time, take a few minutes to review some important safety information.
- Limit holiday decorations to areas where they won't create a fire hazard.
- Make sure decorations are kept away from heat sources.
- Don't leave indoor lights unatten
ded. - Examine all light sets before use. Don't use damaged light sets or extension cords.
- If you use candles, make sure they are in stable holders on a flat, stable surface, and create a 1-foot circle of safety around them.
- Blow out lit candles when you go out.
- On the Road:
- If you plan to drink at a holiday party, please arrange for a designated driver to take you home (a designated driver is a nondrinking driver).
- Consume food, sip your drinks, and alternate with nonalcoholic beverages.
- Take a cab or public transportation.
- If you are hosting a party:
- Encourage your guests to designate a driver ahead of time.
- Serve a variety of foods and include nonalcoholic beverages alongside alcoholic beverages.
- Stop serving alcohol an hour (perferably 90 minutes) before the party is over. Bring out dessert, coffee, and other nonalcoholic drinks.
- Arrange a ride home for guests who've overindulged or invite them to spend the night.
The Board of Directors would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! |
Election News -
There is only one day left before the annual election. Please take a moment to fill out your ballot.
Only Owners and Successor Trustees have voting privileges. There is one vote/ballot per membership. (If there are two or more owners of one unit, those owners need to decide between them how to vote one ballot.)
Do not sign the ballot or the yellow privacy envelope. However, you must sign the Green envelope for your ballot to be counted.
You can mail the ballot back postage paid. You can put the ballot in the ballot box at the Reception Desk. You can turn in your ballot to the Inspector of Elections before the annual meeting begins on December 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. in Lortscher Hall. The Inspector of Election will open the ballots, verify that there is quorum; (Mutual Fifty must have 140 returned official ballots to have a legal election) and counts the ballots. The Inspector of Elections determines the order of candidates listed on the ballot by random draw.
Failure to vote will be costly to all residents and may result in re-printing and re-mailing the ballots.
Please vote! |
