CHAMBER CONNECTION: Week of December 5, 2011
Greetings from Pulaski County
Chamber of Commerce

Dear Member:

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and all the festive activities that are happening!  It has been great to see all the businesses that are contributing in the spirit of Christmas like SunTrust Bank in Fairlawn and Lowes, David Gravely Photography and the Southwest Times drive for toys! We are so fortunate to have businesses that genuinely care about our community.

Finish your shopping this week so you can come on out and enjoy the last Business After Hours of 2011 on Thursday, December 15th from 5:30 till 7:30 at the Draper Mercantile. Experience for yourself what has become known as "Merc Magic!" Should be a great event and we look forward to seeing you there!

Chamber Spotlight by Sheila D. Nelson

"The Sky's The Limit!" You will be hearing that phrase a lot from the Chamber throughout 2012. We began by using it as the theme of our Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet on November 18th and will continue to use it throughout the year.

As part of this theme, the annual Business Expo will be held on September 7 - 9 at the New River Valley Airport. SkyFest AirShow, to be held in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of New River Valley Airport, will be promoting aviation, business development, and local tourism. The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce is aligning with Always Eventful, LLC to present the annual Business Expo in a dynamic setting with other Airshow events to highlight business and fun in the New River

Valley.

Soaring to New Heights

Kudos...

...to SunTrust Bank and Lowe's in Fairlawn for hosting the Holly, Trolley Christmas celebration; Santa took requests from children at SunTrust, where there were also refreshments and crafts, Lowe's sponsored Santa's Workshop where children could make small wooden items, and to John White of the Town of Pulaski for arranging for us to use the Town's trolley;

...and especially SANTA for taking time from his busy schedule to be with us again this year!

A Shepherd was tending his flock in a field, when a new sports care screeched to a stop on the read nearby in a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in expensive designer clothes and sunglasses, lenas out of the window and shouts over to the shepherd, "If I tell you exactly how many sheep you have here, can I take one?"
