Annual Meeting
Congratulations to the winners of the awards presented at the Chamber's 59th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet: Small Business of the Year Award went to Martin's Pharmacy; Business Excellence Award was presented to New River Valley Airport; Business Executive of the Year winner was Aric Bopp, Executive Director of the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance; and the Corporate Business Executive of the Year went to Patrick Collignon, Chief Operating Officer and recently appointed Senior Vice President Group Trucks Operations Americas of Volvo.
A special award, the Unsung Hero Award, was presented to Robert Hiss, Dallas Cox, and Shawn Utt, and the Chamber's 2011 Scholarship winner, Magen Stacy, was recognized.
The Southwest Times Civic Honors Award went to Elrica "Rickie" Graham.

Holly Trolley Christmas in Fairlawn On Friday, Dec. 2, the Fairlawn community will once again celebrate the Christmas season from 5-8pm. Join us at SunTrust Bank to visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, see the fire truck, and enjoy crafts and refreshments. Enjoy Santa's Woodworking Workshop at Lowe's, and ride the Ole Town Trolley Polar Express.

Chamber Spotlight
At the 59th Annual Banquet and Awards Banquet, winners of the Chamber's annual awards were announced to a packed house!
Magen Stacy, who was the recipient of the Chamber's first scholarship, was presented to the group. Then Elrica "Rickie" Graham was introduced as the well-deserving recipient of The Southwest Times Civic Honors Award: Ms. Graham has made so many contributions to our area over the years. And she is still going strong!

Large Format Printer Now at Library
The Pulaski Co. Library has acquired a large format printer and is now making these services available to patrons. Posters or banners can be created in various sizes, including 36" x 48" posters in color or B&W for $5/ea.
Third Annual Governor's Award for Science Innovation
The Science Museum of Virginia is now accepting nominations for this award, which is designed to recognize an emerging company or organization that has made a significant impact in the areas of science, technology, engineering or mathematics. The award will celebrate diversity by recognizing a company or organization that inspires innovation and reinforces the global competitiveness of VA. You are encouraged to nominated one or more Chamber members whose busienss has fewer than 250 employees with focus in the areas mentioned above. For future details and nomination info, contact the Chamber office. Nomination Deadline is Dec. 2.
Pulaski Christmas Parade
The Pulaski County Jaycees Christmas Parade will be held in the Town of Pulaski at 7pm on Thurs., Dec. 1. The theme this year is "Christmas: Past, Present & Future."
Dublin Christmas Parade
The Town of Dublin's Christmas Parade will be at 11am on Sat. Dec, 3. Anyone wishing to participate should contact Deanna Hopkins at 540.674.4778.
Judges Needed for District DECA Competition The District Competition for DECA, high school co-curricular marketing organization, will be held on Fri., Jan. 6, at New River Community College. Students are given "real-world" role plays with problems in various fields and are asked to present their solutions to judges. The time requirement could vary, but judges are usually needed from 1-5pm. Please contact Kim Radford at 540.951.5706 if interested.
