Next week would have marked Milton Friedman's 100th Birthday. Next Monday, 30 July, we're hosting celebrations in his honor in Wichita and Kansas City. Check out the details for each event below...both events are free to everyone and open to the public.
We'll be discussing what his family acknowledges is his most lasting legacy - School Choice. Ms. Virginia Walden-Ford will be presenting on what school choices means to parents in celebration of Dr. Friedman's birthday. Ms. Walden-Ford and her twin sister were among a group of about 130 black students who were handpicked to desegregate the Little Rocks high schools in the mid 1960s. She speaks passionately about that experience and those with her son which have made her a strong advocate for school choice.
Ms. Virginia Walden-Ford is a National Board Member and a founding member of The Black Alliance for Educational Options, Inc., the Executive Director of D.C. Parents for School Choice, Inc, and received the 2005 Leonard F. DeFiore Parental Choice Advocate Award from the National Catholic Education Association. Chec
