Commentary

Kansas Policy Institute is running an ad campaign in April to urge Governor Parkinson to drop his demand for tax increases to support a $380 million spending increase.  We are proposing that we can balance the budget without raising taxes or eliminating services.  A link to a menu of 25 ideas to balance the budget totaling $839 million in savings is posted below.  The first print ad appeared in the Sunday, April 4th edition of the Wichita Eagle. Additional print and radio ads are planned to run statewide this month.
