Withreach Opportunity:
Fall Fest! Sunday, October 30th
Ministry partners are needed for set-up (11:00 am-12:00 pm), tear down (3-4 pm) and to supervise games and activities with the children between 12:30 and 3 pm. Lunch will be provided for all workers. Please contact Roxanne O'Connor at ibroxie@comcast.net or beginning October 9 stop by the Kiosk in the Social Hall to sign up for one part or the whole event.
Items Needed:
We will be handing out Treat Bags at the Fall Fest. You can help by donating bags of individually wrapped and bite-sized candies. Also our Youth will be handing out free coffee and hot chocolate and selling food and beverages to benefit Asbury's Youth and Withreach. Donation slips for all needed items are located in the Social Hall on the grey easel.
Please deposit donations in the bin outside the church office by Sunday, October 23. Thanks so much for your help!! _____________________________________________________ |
Mission Rummage Sale Report  It's hard to adequately express appreciation for the 65+ workers who gave so freely of their time and talents to sort, fold and hang, lift heavy furniture, help during the sale times, and help with the clean-up on Saturday. Thanks also to the generous donors who shared their "treasures" so others could use and enjoy them, made soup and goodies to sell, and brought food for the workers to enjoy. We were delighted this year to welcome neighbors from Olde Towne East who worked with us to make it all happen. Also thanks to any whose meeting areas may have been missing some tables--your patience is appreciated. And finally, thanks to those who shopped!! The result of all this is $2,583 that will be put back into the community through our Withreach projects and Mission giving. ______________________________________________________ |

Retirement Celebration!!
You are cordially invited to an evening honoring the ministry of Pastor Phil and Sue Covert. They have served numerous church over the past 47 years and are now beginning a new chapter of life as they enter into retirement. The evening will include coffee and desserts, a time of sharing and a card shower.

 Shalom Tutoring
Tutors and substitute tutors will meet on Monday, October 24 at 6:30 pm in the Charter Room for orientation to our latest service opportunity--tutoring 4th grade students from Goode Elementary. The tutoring with take place at Asbury beginning Tuesday, November 1 and ending April 10. Besides tutors we need snack preparers for each week. Sharon Stump is our Snack Coordinator.
