Funding Request Restored

Housing Resources Board Events

Thanks in part to all the emails, phone calls and visits to City Hall by HRB supporters, The City of Bainbridge Island Council voted unannamously to restore funding for HRB programs for 2012.

Thank you to all of you who were our advocates during this budget crisis.  We're also grateful to the City Council for recognizing the importance of the housing programs provided by HRB.

Rise & Shine SHINES!

Housing Resources Board Events

Thank you for making it such a success!

We exceeded our goal for Rise & Shine, HRB's second annual fundraising breakfast by raising $42,000!

Held at Grace Episcopal Church, the event was at near capacity with approximately 250 guests and volunteers.  Our gratitude to all those who made it possible, from the youth volunteers to the elite corporate sponsors is immeasurable.

But it is to our contributors that we are most grateful.  Your financial support ensures that our community continues to practice the values of diversity, inclusion and most importantly, caring for each other.

They put the "Shine" into Rise & Shine

Housing Resources Board EventsJust one of many organizations that helped make the Rise & Shine event possible was the Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop.

Housing Resources Board Events HRB is immensely grateful to all of the people who worked so hard to create the bird houses that were in our auction at the Breakfast.  Derek Tetlow, Project Leader from Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop, led the way by researching bird houses and creating templates and cutting all of the parts for 30 bird houses from cedar lumber provided by ProBuild.  He organized the team of woodworkers from Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop who spent a Saturday assembling all of the bird houses in Derek's shop.  Thanks go to Derek and to his team: Chris Bennis, Tim Corcoran, John Lofgren, and Mike Hensley & Marta!  Without them there would have been no bird houses for the artists to finish!  Many thanks!

And stay tuned for more activities from the Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop.  They have put hours of effort into building the Bus Shelter at Ferncliff Village. We'll feature more on that story in future "Over the Fence" enews.

A Thanksgiving Thank You
