Turning Lemons to Lemonade

Lemonade Stand

There's nothing that speaks to summertime more than a kids lemonade stand on the Fourth of July.  And there's nothing more heartwarming than kids working hard for a good cause.

HRB has received $140.00 for emergency rental assistance thanks to the hard work of a group of caring kids who manned their lemonade stand throughout the holiday weekend.  Pictured above are Caitie Mooney, Audrey Covert, Emma Covert and Geneva Levy.

If you're interested in helping with event coordination contact Wendy Johnson to join the party!

Volunteers for Housing Resources BoardHelpline Helps Out HRB on Day of Caring
With a small mountain of mulch to move at Island Home, HRB staff members were greeted spontaneously by several volunteers from Helpline House in their efforts to spruce up the property.

"It's just amazing how people see a need and will jump right in" explains HRB maintenance manager, Jeanette Hill.  "A neighbor saw me moving mulch and just asked for a shovel!"

Folks at Helpline House saw the need for additional help and responded immediately with several more volunteers.  "They were so responsive so quickly -- it's great to be part of a helping community" adds Hill.
