Day of Caring

Day of Caring
This June 24th marks the 16th annual Day of Caring coordinated by the United Way of Kitsap County.

Volunteer opportunities abound at various non-profit organizations and government agencies from Belfair to our own Bainbridge Island.

HRB is one of the participating agencies.  We are looking for volunteers to help us with a landscaping project at our IslandHome apartments.

It Takes Many Hands
Greetings!,
Housing Resources Board website
As a CLT, (Community Land Trust) the Housing Resources Board takes seriously our role as stewards for the community.

Carl Florea, our executive director, along with our board, is highly committed to engaging, involving, and empowering everyone on Bainbridge to help build community through housing.

That is why we have launched a new website, and why we began this e-newsletter three months ago.

The task is large, but collectively we have everything we need to keep the heart of our community strong. We can't build community alone. It takes many hands and many hearts, but standing together, we are strong.

With warm regards,
Wendy Johnson

Housing Resources Board Website
New HRB website now online
We are proud to announce that we have launched our new HRB website. The structure of the new site will make it easier for HRB to get information to you - and get feedback from you.  Our aim is to better inform and engage our members and friends in the community about new and evolving projects.

On our new site, you can...
  • Stay informed
  • View our properties
  • Get to know the HRB community
  • Link to news articles
  • Find out how you can get involved
And this is just the beginning.  Our goal is that the website will evolve to become a comprehensive and valuable resource on affordable housing for the community.

Log on at www.housingresourcesboard.org and learn how the Housing Resources Board has made a difference from the very people whose lives have changed for the better.
Our Thanks to . . .
Thank you!
Windermere Real Estate
Windermere Real Estate of Bainbridge Island has been a long-time advocate for HRB and, in this tight economy, has continued to provide much neededWindermere Real Estate support.  Thanks to a $2,500 grant from the Windermere Foundation, HRB now has enough funds to provide new roofing for the IslandHome Apartments. A special thanks to Jim Laws and his entire crew of agents for their continued support.

Bainbridge Island Senior Center  Thanks to Senior Center for helping build community
Independent Living Program Coordinator Julie Stone and all the friends at HRB would like to thank the members of the Bainbridge Island Senior Center who helped a fellow island resident achieve a safe living space that will allow her to continue living independently.

Our thanks also go out to all community members who joined our efforts in making this experience such a thorough success. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you!
