Effective educators know that ultimately the learner is the lesson. The task of the educator is to discover where the learner is on the path to learning and to call forth their innate gifts to move on.
What we're discovering as a community is that teachers among us abound, from all walks of life, and that learning happens best when teachable moments, readiness, resources, and opportunity meet.
The task of a community is to ensure that, from cradle to career and beyond, they do.
The Aug. 16 Learning for a Lifetime event provides just a glimpse of what can happen when they do--for a family, for a worker, for a community.
There are reasons for our Great Expectations of this community. Here's one: Amina's story.
