December 2011

Dear Friends:

We are halfway into the 2011 Sleep Out Campaign, and $718,723 en route to its $1.8 million goal. At this point thanks to 1,674 generous and faithful donors, 359 families of our community will have reasons to feel hopeful in this coming year. Thank you so much from them and from us!

This amazing community's support for the Sleep Out through the Nov. 16 Give to the Max Day was simply outstanding. Obviously, we still have a long way to go and lots of opportunities to help us get to goal. What's at stake is not achieving a financial goal, which is and has always been based on the need that comes to our door, but the hope and futures of families and kids and all of the people entrusted to our care. The return on investment for all of us is huge and somehow makes the Sleep Out goal, please God, reachable.

Whatever you can do to help move us to goal will shore up the hope and change the futures of some very precious families and kids. Please consider donating today and be that difference maker. Thank you! Holiday blessings to you and your loved ones.

Let's Bring Peter Home
17-year-old aims to reach his goal

The Star Tribune called him the Sleep Out King. Peter has been nominated as an emerging legend in the community. And to all of us who know him, he's our hero. Peter will sleep in a box through December to raise awareness and funds for people who don't have stable housing. Please support his efforts so he can reach his $100,000 goal! So far, Peter has raised $88,097.

  • Donate through Peter's own fundraising page.
  • Send a check to IOCP (made payable to IOCP) and write "Peter Larson" in the memo line.
  • Enjoy delicious pancakes at Countryside Cafe through Sunday, Dec. 11. For every order, $1 will be donated to Peter's sleep out.

And if you haven't already, please thank Peter for all he's done!

The mission of IOCP is to engage the heart and will of the community to respond to emergency needs and create opportunities for all to thrive.
