Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners
February 2011
Greetings!

Thanks to you and many other generous supporters, renovation of our future home has begun. This will truly be our community's home, where partnership, service, volunteering, and hope will be the components of how we choose to live. Together we will grow, and together we will bring the care of everyone in our community to a whole new level. Exciting stuff!

We anticipate moving in May 2011. Watch for updates and check renovation progress in our photo gallery. Wondrous things are afoot!

Take the 50-50 Challenge
4,000 people benefit from Food and Fund Drive

As part of the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, IOCP is launching its annual food and fund drive. Our goal is to collect 50,000 lbs. of food and $50,000 between March 1 and April 1.

Last year, the IOCP Food Shelf served nearly 4,000 people in our community. Unfortunately, that number is increasing. Here's why:

--14.4% of students in the Wayzata Public Schools are on free and reduced lunch, nearly triple the number 10 years ago.

--41% of the people served by our food shelf are children.

--Two-thirds of the people we see struggle with employment, putting a strain on family income.

Your donation will have a profound impact:

--$100 provides 360 meals

--$300 feeds one person for a year

--$450 feeds a family of 3 for a year

--200 lbs. of donated food creates 150 meals

Organize a food drive, plan a special event, or fill an extra bag when you grocery shop. Together, we can meet the 50-50 Challenge!

Food donations are accepted Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call (952) 516-6061 to schedule a large dropoff. Cash donations are accepted online, in person, or by mail. Received between March 1 and April 30, cash donations also leverage additional funds through the Feinstein Foundation. List of needed items.
