October 2010

The Sleep Out is our annual communitywide effort to ensure a safe place to call home for all the people entrusted to our care. This year's campaign, Nov. 12-Dec.12, hopes to prevent 900 families from losing their housing. That's a $1.8 million goal, which we believe is possible because of you. Each year, you find a way. This year, more than ever, we need everybody in to make the campaign a success. Stay with us, friends, at this most critical time.

Kickoff at Klapprich
Join us Saturday, Nov. 13, 6-8 p.m., for an evening of tasty food, lively music by Tapestry, a Flurry Zone cash cube, and other fun activities. "The Pursuit of Happyness" will be shown on a large inflatable movie screen at 8 p.m., followed by a community sleep out. Kare 11's Kim Insley will emcee the event that kicks off our 15th annual housing campaign. Gather pledges, bring your sleeping bag, and sleep out for a great cause. Questions? Contact Jill Kohler.
Hegele headlines prayer breakfast
Be inspired by Steve Hegele, a motivational speaker, consultant, and coach who will share his courageous faith journey Friday, Nov. 5, at the fall community prayer breakfast, 7-8:30 a.m., Wayzata Country Club. Musician Norah Long will complement Steve's heartfelt message. Sponsorships available.

Tickets, $15, are available online, at The Foursome in Plymouth, Bob's Shoe Repair in Wayzata, or IOCP. Check it out on Facebook. Questions? Contact Beth Ulrich at (952) 449-6800.
Double your Sleep Out gift on Nov. 16
Plan ahead! Thanks to a generous IOCP donor, your Sleep Out donation will be matched up to $100,000 one day only--Tuesday, Nov. 16 (midnight to midnight), at www.givemn.org as part of the Give to the Max Day. Make twice the difference in providing housing for families at risk of homelessness.
