Giving thanks is such a primal thing. Necessary. Always. All ways. So, thank you, friends, for giving families and kids of our community so many reasons to feel thankful-no matter-and in the midst of their often daunting struggle. Just a couple of examples: 567 families of our community had a Thanksgiving feast they might not have were it not for the generous outpouring of scouts, schools, churches, businesses, civic groups, kids, and individuals. Wow! Thank you! The Adopt-A-Family miracle renewed our belief in the power of this community to step up when it counts. Just two days after our "red alert" about being only halfway to the need for more adopters generated a response that ensured that all the families on Santa's list this year (492 of them) will have a happy Christmas. Amazing! Thank you! Thanks for the thoughtful gifts of homemade scarves and hats and blankets and other ordinary day brighteners that flow in and out of this place. Thanks to your early, generous, and faithful support of the Sleep Out. We are $582,085 closer to our $2 million goal. A ways to go-and lots of ways still left to help us get there-but definitely the right direction. We give thanks, again and again, and most especially for all of you. All God's best to you and your loved ones for a season full of blessings.

Busy Homework Clubs need furnishings All 8 Homework Club sites are hopping this year. A record number of 62 volunteers meet once or twice a week with 149 students, providing help with math, reading, and science.
Increased participation makes it even more important to create a positive, productive learning environment. A few of the sites would benefit from the following donations.
- folding tables
- 10 folding chairs
- sturdy floor lamps (bright)
- 2 ceiling lamps (plug-in, not hard wired)
If you would like to donate any of the above items, call or e- mail to arrange drop off: Kimberly Conger (612) 309-3133.
