LaDonna Hoy Executive Director
Sometimes ardently hoped for results of the best laid plans are exceeded by unimagined outcomes. And one can only say Ahhhh!
So it was with Spread Your Wings. On June 25 we celebrated a 30th anniversary of this marvelous community's investment in anchoring the hopes and giving flight to the dreams of some very precious people.
The stars seem to align beginning with theSpread Your Wings leadership team-Jim and Kathryn Ramstad, Rebecca Sundquist and Robyn Cook, Janet Schutz and her indefatigable auction team, Nancy Holden, IOCP staff, sponsors, guests, donors, and volunteers. A stunning performance by all.
The setting was lovely. The hospitality of the Lafayette staff stellar. The auction items were bountiful and generous, the volunteers, exceptional. The net ($190,000) in excess of our financial goal.
What blew us all away, however, were the beautiful kids who sang out their hope and Ouida, the courageous mom who shared the story of her struggle and her dream come true thanks to all of you.
Ahhhhh!
That's what we're really after . . . the ROI that really matters. The return that doesn't succumb to fickle markets or the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
Ouida and those kids gave us all reasons to feel proud and hopeful about the future of this community. A simply awesome reminder that we're on the right track together . . . and for good.
Thank you, Ouida. Thank you, kids. Thank you, friends. Stay with us.

Weekly Needs Looking for a way to help someone today? Weekly Needs, begun last fall in response to specific family and program requests, allows us to respond to immediate situations. Requests might include baby supplies, a bike, mattress, or computer. To receive a weekly e-mail with a current list of needs, contact Deb Caris.
To expand the type of donations we can accept, we also need storage space: 1,000+ sq. ft., ground floor, heat, AC, minimum 1 year, near IOCP, accessible daily. If you know of available storage space, contact Wendy Geving.
