| Green New Year's Resolutions
Hi
So, how are your new year's resolutions going? Making it to the gym 3 times per week? Down 7.3 lbs? Hanging out more with your kids? Volunteering in your community? Achieving a work/life balance?
While the team at Every Little Bit can't help with
all of your goals, we can certainly offer some great tips to help you "green" your life conveniently.
- Take a reusable bag with you everywhere, not just the grocery store.
- Carpool, walk or take the bus to work once per month (work up to more).
- Have your grade-schooler head up the light brigade at home by turning off all lights not in use.
- Reduce the amount of packaging you purchase & use (i.e. buy the tub of yogurt instead of single serving packages. Cut down on ziploc use by putting sandwiches in containers or the fabulous Wrap-N-Mat.)
- Use biodegradable kitchen, garbage bags & doggie bags.
Although there are tons of ways to reduce our footprint on the earth, we didn't want to overwhelm you with too many suggestions all at once - the best way to get started is one small change at a time. Every little bit counts.

Our customer focus groups let us know they were interested in an objective opinion on how "green" a product really is. We responded to that request by doing in depth research on every product.
We use a number of criteria when reviewing and selecting products, and obviously not all products can be assessed against all criteria (e.g. When comparing shampoo to a water bottle, some of the criteria are obviously different). Here's the type of questions we ask:

How are the products made?

What materials are in the product?

Where does the product come from?
-
How is the product used and disposed of?
So find out if the product you're interested in is not quite granola-girl or is a fave of David Suzuki.
