Don't Be Sheepish About Cloning

In the real world, cloning presents many practical problems and ethical issues. But in the Four51 world, cloning is perfectly acceptable and very useful.

There are two types of cloning that you should know about:

Product Cloning
Cloning a product will create an  exact duplicate of a product.  In the case of a variable text product you must pay close attention to the related Pageflex files, because both the original and the cloned product will be associated with the same project. You may wish to assign the cloned product to a new project.

That said, product cloning can come in handy if you have multiple products that are similar, but require a separate product ID.

User Cloning
Cloning a user is a quick way to duplicate a user and (nearly) all of that user's associations. Except for user-created addresses and user-created credit cards, permissions and settings
assigned to the original user will be assigned to the clone. When might this be useful? One example: your customer calls to tell you they hired someone new and want you to make a user similar to another employee. You can read more about cloning users in this Discover Four51 article.
