Don't you hate that? Don't make your buyer-users enter basic info like Name each time they order a new variable product. A user's personal information can be pre-populated into the spec form of a variable text product.

Did you know that you can do this right now without having to rely on Java Scripting or an Act of Congress or any other type of wizardry?  Custom User Fields can be associated with your users.  You are able to easily create and assign these fields.  Once assigned, you can populate any bit of information you want such as: Name, Title, Phone, Fax, Address and more! 

These custom user fields can then be set as the default for any text variable spec.  When your user logs on they will see the form filled out with all the info that you associated to the user!
