Beekman Street Artist Banners 2.0 Open Call for Artists

DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FEBRUARY 19, 2010
After an exciting and successful two year run, the first Beekman Street Artist Banners have been retired and it is time to create a new batch of beautiful banners! Calling all professional, amateur and student visual artists - painters, drawers, sculptors, photographers and artisans - who live and/or work in Beacon and within a 5 mile radius (Wappingers, Fishkill, Cold Spring, Garrison and Newburgh) for consideration to be placed on 13 foot tall banners leading from the Beacon waterfront and train station up to Main Street shops, eats and art! Banners will be up during good weather (approximately May through October) for two years; beaconcool.com provides information on the artists and links to their online presence or gallery representatives. Interested in being considered? Contact us with your name, address, phone and email, along with either a link to a website where we can see your current (within past 3 years) work or send 3 to 5 low res jpgs via team members Carla Goldberg at goldbergstudioart@gmail.com AND Stacey Ward Kelly at swkarts@yahoo.com.

Photography Workshops - Now Available!

Hudson Valley Photographer, Robert Rodriguez Jr will be conducting a series of photography workshops in the Hudson Valley.  The workshops are divided into field and classroom sessions. "Photography is the language of light, color, shape, texture, and emotion. Your ability to learn and use this language effectively is the basis of how I approach each Beyond the Lens workshop," says Robert.
Robert is a highly respected educator in all aspects of  landscape photography including field work, digital printing and editing. If you are serious about your photographic potential, then his workshops will provide you with the ideas, concepts, and inspiration that make any camera a tool of true creativity.
