It's downright spooky how much art and music there is to be had in Beacon this week. Check out the special Halloween events for adults and kids starting tonight at Chill.
*********************************************** Many thanks to the Beacon Arts Community for supporting the Dutchess County Arts Council Award dinner on Wednesday October 28, 2009. The event at the Grandview was attended by over 200 people and included eight awards and a silent auction. Two Beacon artists received awards - Joseph Bertolossi, Individual Artist and Linda T. Hubbard, Special Citation for work done in the arts community. Several Beacon folks attended the event including former Mayor Clara Lou Gould, councilwoman Sara Pasti, BACA Board members Carl VanBrunt and Dan Rigney and many others. The table center pieces were from Hudson Beach Glass. In addition, Beacon was well represented by the artists and merchants of Beacon at the Silent Auction.
The Beacon Holiday Gift Basket was valued over $300 and included gifts and certificates from art galleries and specialty shops - Artisan Wine Shop, Bannerman's Gallery, Beacon Institute, Dia:Beacon, Jacquelines, RiverWinds Gallery, and VanBrunt Gallery. From our restaurants when people are hungry and want to relax - gift certificates from Chill, Max's and Homespun. And to help get in shape for the Holidays, Beacon Pilates gave a Gift Certificate.
