Fall into Beacon!

Oooh, the weather is crisp and beautiful.  We might not have had a summer, but it looks like fall will be grand.  Do be sure to get out and see what's shakin on Main Street this weekend, 'cause next weekend will be all about the artists working in Beacon.  Beacon Open Studios opens next Friday with a party.  See the list of 50 (that's right 50!) participating artists below, and be sure to check out the blog for more info.  Props to Theresa Gooby for organizing this year's event!!

Open to the public - bring friends. No charge.
This month's film: The Garden
This politically charged, Oscar-nominated documentary follows a group of low-income families struggling to protect a 14-acre urban farm in the middle of South Central Los Angeles from bureaucratic real estate developers. A lightning rod for controversy in 2004, this cause célèbre drew the attention of numerous notable activists and politicians, including Dennis Kucinich, Joan Baez, Daryl Hannah, Danny Glover and LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigoisa.
