Hello Beacon Open House- Come celebrate the opening of Jessica's new workshop/studio. Featuring a live musical performance by jazz singer Eliane. Refreshments will be served.  Jessica Wickham is a woodworker who manufactures solid wood furniture using sustainablycsourced local hardwoods. Particular emphasis is given to featuring the contour of the natural edge of the tree. Her work celebrates the shapes, colors and textures of hardwoods found in the eastern deciduous forest - an extraordinary resource in our own
back yard -- with roots as well as in traditions of woodworking in Japan. Her material is primarily sourced from the log yards of local landscaping services and includes Black Walnut, White Oak, Red Elm, White Ash and Black Cherry.

On the weekend of September 26-27, 2009 there will be a city-wide Beacon Open Studio event for all artists living and working in Beacon. Studios will be open for the public to visit and free maps will be available to guide visitors around town. No studio? We can help! Come to one of the two registration parties happening in the month of June to sign up, get on the map, and have all your questions answered. Registration costs a mere $20 which will get your studio listed on the free map distributed to the public and will secure a place for one piece of your work to be included in the kickoff party exhibition extravaganza.
