"Pitching Your Story" Workshop: From basic idea to saleable product

A pitch (sometimes called a query) is your foot in the door with the
editor at a newspaper or magazine. It's what turns a vague idea into a product you can sell for cash money.  In this two-hour class you'll learn the basics of taking an idea to finished pitch and some do's and don'ts of the pitching process. Participants are encouraged to come with an idea or two to workshop with the group. We'll brainstorm markets for your idea and help outline a strong pitch to make yours stand out from the slush.

Beacon Open Studios Logo

On the weekend of September 26-27, 2009 there will be a city-wide Beacon Open Studio event for all artists living and working in Beacon. Studios will be open for the public to visit and free maps will be available to guide visitors around town. No studio? We can help! Come to one of the two registration parties happening in the month of June to sign up, get on the map, and have all your questions answered. Registration costs a mere $20 which will get your studio listed on the free map distributed to the public and will secure a place for one piece of your work to be included in the kickoff party exhibition extravaganza.

There will be two opportunities in the month of June to register in person.

Friday June 26th from 5-7pm at Chill 173 Main St.

Saturday June 27th 10am-noon at Zuzu's 453 Main St.

Come enjoy a beverage, meet other artists and get on the map!

If you cannot make it to either of the registration parties, you may download a registration form from the BACA website and mail it in with your registration fee.

Registering for Open Studios will also get your work shown at the kickoff exhibition and party to be held on Friday evening.
