"Microscale and the ACL & SAL Historical Society have worked together
to bring
you an accurate set of the signature Seaboard Air Line mint
green and red
passenger locomotive decals for prototype lettering in use from 1954 through the SCL merger in July 1, 1967. This set replaces set
MS 87-439. Included for the
first time are striping and lettering that are the correct red and have the correct road name letter spacing along with the "fire equipment" lettering, Stimsonite numbers for the over-windshield number boards, and shop data lettering. There is sufficient lettering for at least 2 locomotives in each set. Correct Seaboard Air Line medallions are included. Supplemental decals for nose MU receptacle covers and later
EMD builders plates are available in
sets MS 87-48, 87-793, and MC-4056."

A MODELING TIP

If you have a sheet (or partial sheet) of white decal lettering that you're finding hard to see clearly, turn the sheet face down and go over the backside with a Permanent Marker (NOT a water-based one) to let the color soak through the backing paper sufficiently to more easily pick out what you want to trim off the sheet.
A noticeable impact, the cut decal piece requires soaking in water quite a bit longer before the lettering will slide off the backing sheet.  This is probably due to some 'solids' material being deposited into the backing sheet from the marker.

Coat SatinPRODUCT PROFILE
MICRO COAT SATIN

"The Micro Coat finishes are more than just a pretty look. This is one tough finish, and a real breakthrough in a modern formulation of water reducible acrylic resin. For models that get a lot of handling this is the answer. Even the Micro Coat Flat and Micro Coat Satin continue to look like new after a great deal of handling. One of the main reasons for the Micro Coat finishes is that they are the ideal way to be sure that your Microscale Decals perform up to their potential for realism. Micro Coat Clear gives you a 'wet look' shine that replicates the new synthetic paint used on the real thing. It is also the answer for a glossy base necessary for decaling. All the Micro Coat Finishes use the same water clear acrylic resin, which is tough and flexible and adheres strongly to paint and plastic. It is rated to last at least twenty years under ordinary conditions, for models this should be forever. "
