More than 120 Sites Created and Counting...
|

Pictured top: Courtney Ruttinger (Chamber) helping Connie Lamb (Avon Products, Inc.) create her company Traffic Catcher Site.
More than 120 Chamber members have already created their FREE Traffic Catcher Web Site. As the name Traffic Catcher implies, the program allows members to see how many times their site has been viewed. Furthermore, it provides a place for Chamber members to display photos, give descriptions of services and products and give contact information. Viewers can book appointments, view the company's geographical location and connect with social networking sites. These Web sites can be accessed via computer or cell phone. Traffic Catcher Web Sites are an easy way for Chamber members to increase their Web presence for FREE! Have you created yours?
For more information on how to create your Traffic Catcher Site, drop by the Chamber on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or contact Betty Morgan at 229-247-8100.

Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Visits Valdosta
|
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber hosted an informal meeting with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Commissioner Vance Smith on August 11. Discussion was held on House Bill 277, The Georgia 2020 Transportation Act, also known as the Transportation Funding Bill. Smith stated, "This is a step in the right direction, but we still need to look at additional funding sources for transportation due to less revenue from the motor fuel tax that has had a dimensioning return since 2007." Jay Shaw, board member, spoke on the importance of Senate Resolution 821, regarding GDOT multi-year construction agreements that will be voted statewide in 2010. "We need to educate the public on how important it is to get this resolution passed for the good of transportation in Georgia," stated Shaw. |
