Business Communication Etiquette:
Know what you want to say before you say it. If you're writing a longer memo or e-mail (more than a paragraph or two) jot down an outline, even if it's on the back of an envelope. This will keep you on task and make sure you say what you actually want to say. Read More...

Want to Grow Your Business?
Scott
S.E.E.D.S. Center Coordinator, Courtney Ruttinger (Chamber), shared the S.E.E.D.S. Center's history, partnerships, resources available, what was ahead in 2010 and the program's successes with the Chamber Board at the May Board meeting. Following the presentation, Scott Manley (VSU's Small Business Development Center), led discussion about following questions:
  •  What do you see as the major impediments to survival and success of businesses in Valdosta-Lowndes County?
  • What else can/should the Chamber do to support the success of your business?

Issues discussed were: fighting online sales to keep money local, finding and keeping good employees, filtering resources down through business owners to get information about Chamber events, workshops, etc. to employees and making the community and Chamber members more aware of S.E.E.D.S. Center resources.  Click here to let us know how you feel about the issues.
