Odle Middle School Policies - Cell phones and No Loitering
As an Odle community we work at maintaining focus on our safety and learning at Odle and providing the optimal learning environment for all students. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of Odle's policies and procedures with regards to loitering and electronics.
"All electronics off and away until the end of the school day."
- All electronics are off and away upon entering the building and until after exiting the building.
- These items are not needed here at school and have been found to be disruptive to the learning environment.
- If staff see it; they will confiscate it and turn it into the Main Office.
- Odle Middle School is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or broken items.
- Designated area to use cell phones before 7:40 AM and after school is by the flag pole.
- Students who have been given permission to use video cameras and photography cameras must have a badge to designate use. All other cameras will be confiscated and turned into the Main Office.
"No Loitering: Students must be in a supervised activity"
- All students must be to tutorial on time by 2:37 PM (M,T,Th,F)
- Staff & administration will escort students to Club Bellevue if they are not in a supervised activity in a timely manner or if they are loitering. Parents will need to pick up their child from Club Bellevue in the MUR
- Loitering includes waiting for parents and rides. For your child's safety, pick up your child up on time. (After 2:45 PM on M, Tu, Th, F, please pick your child up on the SOUTH side of the building.)
- Odle is a closed campus. Once your child leaves campus, he/she may not return that day unless with a parent/guardian present or for a school function.
- School opens at 7:00 AM.
As a reminder, parent pick up times are 2:33, 3:10, and 4:10. After 2:45 students will need to be picked up on the SOUTH side of the building. Please do not block the crosswalk or others who are trying to enter the parking lot. There are parking spots available for you to park.
Thank you for your cooperation and participation in helping make your child's environment both productive and safe. |

Mark your calendar for PTA Focus Day in Olympia - Feb. 26th Join Odle PTSA officers and other Odle parents at the Washington State PTA Focus Day in Olympia on Thursday, Feb. 26th.
PTA Focus Day, this year, is focusing on our #1 priority as voted on at Legislative Assembly which is to fully fund basic education for our kids. It is extremely important to have a strong parent showing at Focus Day this year, since the WA state legislature will be taking a long look at basic education funding and will be making some difficult decisions in this area.
So, please mark your calendars to keep Feb. 26th free. We will arrange carpooling from/to Odle. Stay tuned for more details.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update on BSD School Superintendent Search
There are still a few days for you to share your thoughts and opinions with the firm who is conducting the BSD Superintendent search. Visit www.bsd405.org to find a link to feedback forms.
The search firm is interested in hearing feedback in the areas of challenges the district will face in the future, desirable characteristics of our next superintendent, and suggestions for someone you'd like to see the search firm recruit.
After completing the form you can return it to the consultants via email, fax or snail mail. It is due on Tuesday, November 18. Based on feedback from the staff and community meetings, the search firm will present a profile of desirable characteristics of the next superintendent that will be used to publicize the job opening and recruit candidates. The profile will be shared with the school board at a public meeting on Tuesday, November 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the school board meeting room, 12111 NE First Street, Bellevue, WA 98005.
