Inspire a Student!  Guest Speakers needed for AVID classes at Odle
Mary Beth Gunson, Odle Counselor, is in the process of recruiting guest speakers for the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) classes at Odle.  The AVID teaching team wants to inspire these students to strive to do well in school and to plan on attending college.  If you, a friend, or family member is interested in being a potential speaker on any of the following topics, please contact Mary Beth at gunsonm@bsd405.org or (425) 456-6607

Topics to speak on could include:
· Educational and career journey
· Overcoming obstacles
· Inspirational and motivational experiences
· Organizational strategies
· A vast array of careers (e.g. medical, law, broadcasting, engineering, education, etc)
· Exposing students to decision making about college majors and careers

Speakers can truly make a difference in our students' lives and inspire them to strive for their best.  Please consider volunteering to be a speaker.  For more details and to get any questions answered please contact Mary Beth Gunson at (425)456-6607

Important message from Alexa Allman, Odle Asst. Principal, about Drop Off
We have been notified by Stevenson Elementary that some of our Odle parents are doing a U-turn in Stevenson's parking lot in order to avoid the traffic backups and get their students into the Odle entrance.  This poses a serious safety concern for elementary students. Please refrain from making this U-turn at Stevenson.

Stevenson begins at about the same time as Odle, so traffic is heavy between 7:30 and 7:40. Odle opens the building to students at 7:15 a.m. Parents & students, please make every effort to arrive at Odle early to avoid traffic and ensure your child makes it to class on time and safely.  Remember, Odle's 1st bell rings at 7:40 a.m.  The late bell rings at 7:45 a.m.

Odle Middle School Policies - Cell phones and No Loitering
As an Odle community we work at maintaining focus on our safety and learning at Odle and providing the optimal learning environment for all students. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of Odle's policies and procedures with regards to loitering and electronics.

"All electronics off and away until the end of the school day."

  • All electronics are off and away upon entering the building and until after exiting the building.
  • These items are not needed here at school and have been found to be disruptive to the learning environment.
  • If staff see it; they will confiscate it and turn it into the Main Office.
  • Odle Middle School is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or broken items.
  • Designated area to use cell phones before 7:40 AM and after school is by the flag pole.
  • Students who have been given permission to use video cameras and photography cameras must have a badge to designate use. All other cameras will be confiscated and turned into the Main Office.
"No Loitering: Students must be in a supervised activity"
  • All students must be to tutorial on time by 2:37 PM (M,T,Th,F)
  • Staff & administration will escort students to Club Bellevue if they are not in a supervised activity in a timely manner or if they are loitering. Parents will need to pick up their child from Club Bellevue in the MUR
  • Loitering includes waiting for parents and rides. For your child's safety, pick up your child up on time. (After 2:45 PM on M, Tu, Th, F, please pick your child up on the SOUTH side of the building.)
  • Odle is a closed campus. Once your child leaves campus, he/she may not return that day unless with a parent/guardian present or for a school function.
  • School opens at 7:00 AM.

As a reminder, parent pick up times are 2:33, 3:10, and 4:10. After 2:45 students will need to be picked up on the SOUTH side of the building. Please do not block the crosswalk or others who are trying to enter the parking lot. There are parking spots available for you to park.

Thank you for your cooperation and participation in helping make your child's environment both productive and safe.

Gifts to BSF impact every school, every classroom, every child - every day.
Our fall Phonathon goal is $280,000. Answer the phone and donate during the Phonathon or click here to donate now: www.bsfdn.org/donate
Every gift matters!   Donate by Oct. 29th and our volunteers won't have to call you.   THANK YOU!!
