| ODLE MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM NIGHT
All parents are encouraged to attend Odle Middle School's annual Curriculum Night on Thursday, Sept. 25th at 6:45 p.m.
We are having an exciting and productive year, and we hope to share the excellence of Odle Middle School with you on this important night. The staff has planned a full evening so that you can get a true flavor of our school, your student's daily schedule, and some of our regular routines. The Viking Hut will be open to sell healthy snacks and refreshments. Our Head Cook, Donna Anderson, has also been kind enough to provide samples of Odle's lunches for you to see.
There will be a general introduction at 6:45 p.m. in the MUR. At 7:00 p.m. each parent will follow their student's schedule visiting each classroom, where you will hear from your student's teacher about curriculum and classroom course expectations. Attending Curriculum Night allows you to support your student in a positive and successful manner.
An information sheet including your student's schedule will be coming home with your student this week.

ODLE PTSA NEWS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emergency Preparedness
Odle MS needs tarps and tents to provide shelter in the case of an emergency or disaster. We are gathering these through donations. If you are cleaning up your camping gear and have some tarps or tents you don't need any more, the school would welcome the donation. Contact Anne Reece anne.reece@verizon.net for more information.
Parent Volunteers Needed in the Viking Hut
Parent volunteers are needed to help staff the Viking Hut each lunch period. The Viking Hut is a PTSA-run store open during lunch time for students to purchase school supplies and healthy snacks and drinks. It is a great way to observe the typical Odle lunch scene! You can sign up for shifts that suit your schedule, once or twice a month or every week. Training sessions will take place soon! Please contact Sheryl Pereira, Viking Hut scheduling coordinator, at sherylpereira@comcast.net or 425-503-3062.
Give your input on Washington PTA Legislative Issues
All PTSA members are invited to complete the Washington PTA legislative survey. This survey will guide Washington State PTA's work over the next year. Please take the time to complete the survey. Go to http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB2289YMDTM83 to complete the survey. | |
BELLEVUE SCHOOLS FOUNDATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bellevue Schools Foundation is a community organization that raises money to support academic excellence for every student in the Bellevue School District. Washington State does not provide adequate funding for the excellent education that Bellevue students deserve: to keep Bellevue schools excellent, the community needs to fill the gaps.
Answer the Call This Fall - New Phonathon dates: November 10 -13, 2008 Phonathon, our critical fall fundraiser, is more important than ever! BSF is already funding programs that help kids in all our schools, and we need to make sure we can keep delivering those programs. Every year, volunteers call parents in our fall fundraiser, Phonathon. Due to the late start, calling dates for Phonathon have been moved to November, but you can contribute now. Please donate online at www.bsfdn.org/donate Every gift matters.
Donate by October 29th, and our volunteers won't have to call you! If you've already made your donation - THANK YOU!
Why Support the Bellevue Schools Foundation? The Bellevue Schools Foundation raises money for activities that help students across the district. It funds many programs focused on academic rigor, including a new math program for K-5 and better language arts programs in every grade. It funds several innovative programs to assist struggling students, such as homework clubs and AVID classes. Kids in every school receive a better education due to the Foundation's help. Matching Gifts: Many local companies offer their employees the chance to have their charitable gifts matched. When considering a gift to the Bellevue Schools Foundation, please remember to check with your company's Human Resources department to see if they match donations and to pick up a matching gift form. Workplace Giving: Many BSF supporters make pledges through United Way, Microsoft Giving Campaign and other workplace charitable giving campaigns. BSF is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit - Tax ID #91-1080997.
Amazon.com: It's easy to raise money for our schools while you shop at Amazon.com. Just go to the Bellevue Schools Foundation (BSF) website home page, www.bsfdn.org and click on the Amazon.com link. BSF receives over 7% of each sale. Remember, you must go through our website link for BSF to get credit for the order.
