Greetings!
Some of you may know that Danbury Children First has been working on a project to ensure that all families have access to the information, support, and education they need to help their children. To help us with that project, we are conducting the Danbury Parent Survey, a survey designed to help us gather information from Danbury parents about their experiences in raising children in this city. To
complete the survey, click on the link to the left, or read the article
below.
December can be a hectic month for many parents. So why not take a break from the hustle and bustle and spend an afternoon of fun with the kids! Our annual Human Rights Day Book Reading is a great way to spend a wintry Saturday with your family. It will be held at the Danbury Library on December 13 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Details below...
If you haven't already, you'll also want to read the latest version of Parent-to-Parent, now available on our website.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to read this newsletter. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at carolinel@danburychildrenfirst.org.

Parents: Share Your Opinions About Raising a Family in Danbury!
Danbury Children First is working with parents from all sectors of our city, as well as community leaders, to create a plan to ensure that all families have access to the information, support, and education they need to help their children. But we need your help!
To help us in this planning, we're trying to gather as much information as possible about what it's like to raise children in Danbury. That's why we've developed a survey for Danbury parents. It's an online survey that can be completed in 15 minutes.
To complete the Danbury Parent Survey, click here.
We encourage you to forward this e-newsletter to other parents in the community, so that they can share their thoughts and experiences, as well.
We're
hoping to create a plan that will serve parents from all walks of
life--including grandparents, teen parents, foster parents, and parents
of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds and income levels. Your input,
through the survey, will be extremely valuable in helping us create a
plan that will connect Danbury's parents with the resources they need
to raise happy, healthy children.
To find out more about this project, or if you would like a copy of the survey in Spanish or Portuguese, call Linda Kosko at Danbury Children First at 797-8088. Or email lindak@danburychildrenfirst.org.

social, economic, and cultural rights to an adequate standard of
living, to freedom from hunger, and to health and education. This year is the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations' Human Rights Day!

The
cold weather is here. Why not spend a little time curled up in
front of a fire reading the latest issue of Parent-to-Parent?
As always, this issue is filled with useful information about how to get connected with Danbury-area resources and ideas for getting involved in the Danbury community and schools. It's available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

article by Katherine Harris, a recent Parent Leadership Training
Institute (PLTI) graduate, about how she started a Preschool Open Gym
program at the Police Athletic League (PAL) Building.
- An inspirational profile of parents Carlos and Maria Chacon, who are raising two young children, one with special needs.
