Greetings!    The Cultural Arts Center is ready for summer!  From our monthly gallery exhibits and First Tuesday receptions to our free Spoken Word and Open Poetry night events and our fun classes for youth and adults we are prepared for an exciting season.  If you haven't already seen our Summer/Fall Activities Guide, just go to www.ci.hillsboro.or.us/wcac.
   
Join us on June 5th for Saffire's "Farewell Tour" concert at 8pm - it's our last concert until September, but it's going to be terrific!  And don't forget to save the date - Saturday, July 18th is Hillsboro Plein Air at the Cultural Arts Center.  We'll have more information in the July e-mail.

Hillsboro Plein Air: An Outdoor Painting Event

Afghanistan with Grant Farr On Saturday, July 18th, the Walters Cultural Arts Center will host Hillsboro Plein Air: An Outdoor Painting Event and competition presented by the Hillsboro Arts and Culture Council.
 
The event will run from 9am to 2pm, with tableax vivant presenttions from 10am to 1pm.  Registration and check-in begins at 9am on the 18th.  Pre-registration is suggested and artists can call the Walters Cultural Arts Center at 503-615-3485 to register.  $15.00

WCAC Building The Arts Center is a featured stop on Metro's "Walk There" tour of downtown Hillsboro, a free, self-guided walking tour of historic downtown Hillsboro.  You can pick up a copy of the tour map at the Center or at http://www.oregonmetro.gov.  Bring your lunch or a snack and sit on a park bench in the Arts Center's beautiful park just steps from our front doors, and enjoy a full day of free and fun activities in Hillsboro!   Our gallery exhibits change every month!  While you are here pick up an Activities Guide and think about signing up for one of our classes.
