Greetings!   The Cultural Arts Center welcomes spring this year with our new "Art in Nature" classes at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve.  Spring is a great time to enjoy the Wetlands, observe nature and 'brush up' on your drawing skills.  Please see below for more information about these terrific classes!

This spring, as well, we want to extend an invitation to schools, parents and students to take advantage of the opportunities available at the Center.  Our monthly art exhibits are free and open to the public and we welcome school and student groups!  Our once-a-month Spoken Word lectures are free and are excellent opportunities for high school students to listen to a variety of interesting speakers.  Our May 19th speaker is Jeni Foster at 7pm.  Her topic is "Magic Carpet Made of Steel: Songs of America's Railroad."  The Spoken Word series is appropriate for high school students, as well as elementary and middle-schoolers accompanied by an adult.  For more student opportunities, please call us at 503-615-3485 or check our web site, www.ci.hillsboro.or.us/wcac.

Connect with the Center at our Facebook page, get more information about our programs and events, and sign up as a Friend!  We'd love to hear from you.  (And, if you are interested in our Arts & Culture Book Club but are unable to participate in person, you can follow our group discussion on our blog at http://artsculturebookclub.blogspot.com/.  Please join us by contributing comments!)

Happy Spring!

Sincerely,

Sean Morgan
